Why unhurried?
When people know they aren’t going to be interrupted, they worry less and express themselves more clearly. Also, when people really feel listened to, it seems to increase their focus and the sense that their speech has meaning. They can slow down, and they tend not to repeat themselves. Unhurried conversations are rich and complex, with much less of the battling for attention we often experience.
What is unhurried?
Unhurried Conversations are free and open to the public. Unhurried started in a conversation between Johnnie Moore and Antony Quinn. It’s now being practiced by friends and colleagues in different places around the world. We also use them in work with organisations.
How does it work?
We’re hosting online Unhurried Conversations. These provide space to share experiences and hear from others, at a gentler and more reflective pace than in the rest of our lives. We use a simple process so that we listen to each person without interrupting. This page gives more background - and has a listing of all global Unhurried events!
